My name is Steffen, Norwegian-born in 1987 and I am a hoardercollector of old computers! I try to fix them and make them
(sort of) usable in the modern age with some sort of purpose.
This can be from accessing the internet, e-mail or even Reddit,
to being a web server or local file server or something else.

I'm an airline captain of profession, but during the pandemic
when I was out of work I started fixing an old IBM PS/2 Model 50Z
I was given by an old friend. After that my obsession just spread
to include several other computers in various conditions.
I learned how to troubleshoot, fix hardware and
reinstall software.
Now I have a fairly decent collection
of different computers from different decades.
Some are working perfectly, and some
need a
bit of work. And that takes time...and time is precious!
However, I'm doing a little bit of work now and then and
created this site during one of my nostalgia-trips on YouTube
where I started to miss the 90's style and design of both
websites and hardware.
I therefore had an old LaCie Ethernet Disk laying around that
I couldn't find a real use for. I repurposed the case and
inserted a low-powered motherboard from around 2012,
some DDR2-RAM and installed Debian 12 to make the
web server fairly secure compared to i.e. Windows Server 2003.
(Don't worry, the old components have been taken good care
of and is being repurposed!)
I grew up using a Commodore 64, an IBM PS/2 Model 30 and
eventually in year 2000 an IBM Aptiva 2171 Pentium III.
I miss the simplicity of that time, the games I used to play, and
the thrill of waiting for the dial-up connection. I'm trying
to recreate that feeling, and I'm having a great time fixing,
learning and playing with all the different systems and
reading about what the rest of the community is doing!
Enjoy this site, and please do as we did back then...

Best regards,
